Lookaround (branded on-screen as ITV News Lookaround) is a regional television news and current affairs programme, produced by ITV Tyne Tees & Border from its studios in Gateshead, and serving central and northern Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway, parts of South Ayrshire, the Scottish Borders and overlap areas of Northumberland.
On 14 June 2013, it was reported ITV News Lookaround would be restored to a full 30-minute programme along with ITV recruiting journalists for an Autumn launch. A month later, Ofcom approved ITV’s plans to restore Border’s news service. All short bulletins – including daytime and weekend updates – are now exclusive to the Border region, however with the minutage decreased. The changes came into effect on 16 September 2013.
A new look for Lookaround was launched in 1986. Over the next seven years the titles were updated twice, with the music being kept the shame. Presenters during this time included Jane Askew, Gillian Fraser, Ross Kelly and Eric Wallace.
Lookaround received a new look in January 1993, replacing the bird titles.

All ITV Regions unveiled a new generic look to their news programmes on 2 February 2004 to coincide with the launch of ITV plc. Border also used this opportunity to unveil a new set for their news programme.
ITV unveiled a new corporate logo to most of its channels and services on 16 January 2006. Most regional programmes underwent a refresh at this time, including Lookaround.
ITV News went widescreen on 2 December 2007. Most ITV regional news programmes made slight alterations to the graphics used on their programmes.
The main editions of Lookaround and North East Tonight incorporate a 15 minute opt-out within the main 6pm programme, a fully separate late night bulletin and localised weather forecasts for the current ITV Border and ITV Tyne Tees regions.
Lookaround (together with North East Tonight) became the seventh ITV plc regional news programme to adopt the new ITV News branding for their bulletins, on Thursday 10 December 2009.
Regional news on ITV was refreshed, along with all other presentation, on 14 January 2013. The Lookaround name was retained for the local programme in the ITV Border region, and pan-regional programmes were amended slightly to 'ITV News Tyne Tees & Border'....
