STV News is a Scottish regional news service produced by STV. The news department produces four regional services covering STV’s two Channel 3 franchise areas of Northern and Central Scotland. Additional bulletins also air on local TV channels STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh.
Scotland Today got a new look in 1980.
A major overhaul of Scotland Today saw the programme relaunched as a feature-led magazine programme on Monday 8 October 1984.
A new look programme, launched on Monday 20 October 1986.
Scotland Today was given an updated look around March 1989 and lasted until September 1990.

A new look for Scotland Today was launched on Monday, 4th November 1996 to co-incide with the introduction of a new ident for Scottish Television.
A new look for Scotland Today was unveiled on 28 February 2000.
A new look for Scotland Today was unveiled on 6 January 2003. The studio colour scheme and graphics were again updated on 11 May 2005, although the titles remained the same.
A new, and rather short-lived, look for Scotland Today was unveiled on 5 January 2006.
On 24 July 2006, shortly following the rebranding of Scottish to STV (Central) on 30 May, a new look to the news bulletins was also unveiled.
Scotland Today was rebranded as 'STV News' on 23 March 2009, to co-incide with the new look STV.
A refreshed look for STV News was unveiled on 23 May 2011, marking the split of the 6pm and late evening bulletin from the east of the STV Central region - which launched its own service from Edinburgh.
A service from Edinburgh and the East was launched with main presenters Juliet Dunlop and Caroline Henderson on 23rd May 2011.
