BBC East Midlands Today

East Midlands Today is the BBC’s regional television news programme for its East Midlands region, which covers Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, and the Grantham and Stamford areas of Lincolnshire.

The programme is broadcast on BBC One from studios at the BBC’s East Midlands broadcasting centre in Nottingham, also home to Radio Nottingham. The main transmitter for the programme is Waltham near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. The programme can be watched in any part of the UK (and Europe) on Sky Digital channel 980 on the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service and online around an hour after the main programme has been broadcast.

East Midlands Today was launched on 7 January 1991, having previously been a part of Midlands Today, which now solely covers the West Midlands region.

BBC East Midlands Today updated its titles and graphics, along with most other English regions, on 16 September 2002.

BBC East Midlands Today: 2004-2006

BBC East Midlands Today introduced a new set and graphics on 6 September 2004.

BBC East Midlands Today: 2006-2008

BBC East Midlands Today again relaunched its titles, graphics and set on 29 May 2006.

BBC East Midlands Today: 2008-2016

BBC East Midlands Today changed its titles and graphics on 21 April 2008, coinciding with the relaunch of BBC News.

A new set for BBC East Midlands Today was launched on Tuesday 29th March 2016.
